Irene Akamumpa is a bright and resilient child living in the Mbarara community, where she is currently enrolled in Primary 4. She is a disciplined young girl who is strongly involved in church activities including Sunday school and the AWANA program. She loves participating in singing and dancing competitions in Sunday School. Irene stays with her mother after her father abandoned their family. Irene’s mother is a farmer who struggles to take care of her and her 3 other siblings. She is a hardworking girl, who performs excellently in school and dreams of becoming a nurse someday. Even with these challenges, Irene continues to show determination, kindness, and a sincere desire to learn and grow.
