Stella Nagasha

NG04597 Stella is the only child of a single mother. When Stella’s mother had her, she was young and still in school. The man responsible for the pregnancy ran away after realizing that Stella’s mother was pregnant. That is how Stella’s maternal grandmother ended up raising her, because her mother left after she was born. Stella’s grandmother could not afford the school fees to send her to a school of any value. When Stella was in Primary 3, she was registered into the sponsorship program at Africa Renewal Ministry. Once she received a sponsor, she was able to start school and she began to excel academically. As she experienced the love of the staff and saw Jesus’s love for her on display through discipleship, she gave her life to the Lord. While in the child development program, she picked up leadership roles and sang in the youth choir.

Last year, Stella was able to graduate from Senior 6 (high school advanced level). She was given a vacancy at Bishop Stuart University to pursue a bachelor’s in nursing which is her dream career. Unfortunately, she could not report to the university because her mother and grandmother could not afford the amount of tuition required for her to start the course. Even though she was not able to start school last year, Stella went back to her community and continued to volunteer at the Child Development Program that had poured into her. Now she is pouring into the younger generation. Some of the roles she has had in her community are helping children write letters, counselling them, doing home visitations, and helping with center days.

The staff that work with her say that:“Stella’s background and family reality are completely unmatched with who she is now. It can only be God! Her steadfastness and excellence are an inspiration and indicator of the life of a transformational leader. It is our prayer that God will continue to provide for her so that she will be able to realize her dreams.”
