ExpandHOPE

Since 2005, Wentz Medical Center has been serving the physical needs of the community in Ggaba, Uganda. It has been an incredible opportunity to share the love of Christ while caring for the sick and hurting. We've been operating at full capacity for many years with the need to expand in our ability to meet the healthcare needs around us.

In 2022, the Expand Hope Campaign was launched with a lead gift of $1,000,000 and a matching gift of another $1,000,000 towards the construction of a $4,500,000 expansion that would transform Wentz Medical Center into a community hospital. Praise be to God, we are at 3.5M cash in the bank and hope to break ground about July 2023.

We will continue to fundraise for our total goal of $4,500,000 in order to open the new hospital in 2024.

• Wentz Medical has been operating over full capacity for over 10 years and has been given a $2,000,000.00 matching grant to expand our current clinic facility.

• We hope to raise $1,000,000 by EOY 2022 to break ground in spring of 2023.

THE NEED

• Rapid Population Growth + Poor existing medical facilities and equipment = further vulnerability for Uganda's next generation.
• The Ugandan government currently spend $11 per person a year on medical care. WHO estimates that $33 is needed to address this need.

COVID further exposed the painful gaps in Uganda’s health system.
