MEET Hope
MUK00707 The story of Hope’s life certainly lives up to her name. God has brought transformation and light out of dark and difficult circumstances. Hope is from Mukono and is one of 13 siblings. With so many children to care for, her parents struggled to keep them in school or to even provide for their most basic needs. When Hope was able to enroll in our Child Development Program, her parents were relieved and thankful for the financial assistance. As Hope reflects on all that she gained through the program, she sees how God had so much more in store for her.
Not only did Hope have the opportunity to go to school, she was also enfolded into the community of the local church and received mentoring and discipleship through the program. She experienced God’s love through the care of staff and volunteers and eventually gave her life to Christ. As Hope grew in her faith and in character, she also developed leadership skills and took on responsibilities serving those around her. Out of thankfulness for what God has done for her, Hope considers these opportunities to serve as a gift to the Lord.
When Hope was able to complete the advanced level of high school, she was given the chance to attend our Transformational Leadership Training that is only open to a select group of student leaders each year. Hope says that “attending TLT was life-changing, with eternal indelible marks of transformation.” Through the experience, she learned about others and herself, overcame fears, discovered her spiritual gifts, and gained clarity for her future. Hope cares deeply about justice and wants to pursue a law degree so that she can be light to shine the hope and truth of Christ to her community. She trust that the Lord will provide for her education and for the path ahead.
Affirmations from our staff: “Hope is passionate about law and justice in society. She secured admission to pursue a Bachelor of Law. We are certain that she will bring hope to life when she one day graduates as a lawyer. We’re believing God for her sponsorship and college education.”YOUR SPONSORSHIP PROVIDES
