Raised in a rural community in Soroti, Mary Akello grew up in an extended family of fifteen people where financial challenges were a daily reality. After her mother suffered a serious accident and her father's income as a butcher proved insufficient to meet the family's needs, life became even more difficult. Yet through the support of the Child Development Program, Mary was able to stay in school, grow in her faith, and complete high school.

Mary dreams of becoming a nurse and midwife, serving vulnerable families with compassion and care. She also hopes to one day become a tutor who inspires and equips future healthcare professionals. Although she has the passion and determination to succeed, she lacks the financial means to continue her education.

Through NGLP, a sponsor can help Mary pursue her calling and empower a future healthcare professional whose life will bring healing, hope, and encouragement to many others.
