Raised by her grandmother after her parents separated when she was still a baby, Shamila Nakalumba has overcome significant challenges with perseverance and determination. Growing up in a household of eleven children, resources were often stretched thin, yet her grandmother worked tirelessly to provide care and stability. Through the Child Development Program (CDP), Shamila received the educational support and encouragement that enabled her to complete secondary school and believe in a brighter future. Most importantly, the program introduced her to Jesus Christ, helping her develop a strong faith that continues to guide her life today.

Shamila is passionate about learning and dreams of pursuing a degree in Accounting. She hopes to gain the skills needed to build a successful career, achieve financial independence, and give back to the grandmother who sacrificed so much for her. She also desires to use her education to positively impact her family and community.
