GBA05126 Derrick lives with his parents in the slums of Gaba. His mother works as a cook at a small school, and his father does odd jobs as a day laborer, so they struggle to provide for the family on their small incomes. Derrick started out in our Early Childhood Program which provides meals, a safe place to play, and discipleship for children and their families. Being in this program allowed him to start school on time, which is a huge blessing and not common for children in such extreme poverty. This would never be possible without sponsorship. Derrick is doing well in nursery school and loves to play and doodle. He needs a new sponsor to remain in the program and continue his education.
